AJSA Public Speaking Contest

At NAILE, we will again be running our popular Speaking Contest! This is open to ANYONE who is a paid junior member of the Southdown association. We plan to have excellent awards again this year so make sure to carve out time for this contest!

The age breaks will be the same:
9 and under – Can be a prepared and memorized speech, or impromptu answering the question “What is the hardest part of showing sheep, and what is your favorite part of showing sheep?”

10-13– This will be an extemporaneous style speech. You will draw your topic and have twenty minutes to prepare for a 3-5 minute speech at the show. No prior research will be necessary to answer the prompts

14-16– This will be an extemporaneous style speech. You will draw your topic and have twenty minutes to prepare for a 3-5 minute speech at the show. We suggest that you have discussions prior to NAILE with your family and friends surrounding the topics of: breed character, genetic issues, and unethical practices in the industry to prepare for possible topics.

17 & older – This will be an extemporaneous style speech. You will draw your topic and have twenty minutes to prepare for a 3-5 minute speech at the show.
